First of all, I experience stress when I have overload of responsibility, more that I can handle, at work and at school. Companies are looking for efficient workers who can make a difference inside and outside the work-place. In fact, I looking for exceed all the expectative at work, finishing any task in time. Also, having a good performance in project management at university requires lot of concentration and energy. Otherwise we were just ordinary people.
Although the taking of responsibility at work and school causes stress, it is not the only aspect to mention. Another aspect that causes stress is the wasting of my time due to external factors. Every person has different perspectives of life, according to our aspirations and goals. For example, it is unpleasant when you realize there is a low commitment of co-workers taking responsibilities. The high performance of the entire team allows us to succeed in our projects. In addition, it is impolite the unpunctuality on meetings. Being on time is so important in people’s lives because it allows accomplishing all our activities without disappointing people.
Those causes that were mentioned above came also with some consequences which can damage both physical and psychological health. For instance, the body detects the stress and gets ready to confront it. It is important to recognize how stress affects your immune systems. In my experience, I can realize the following consequences:
I get apathy and moodiness, especially in evaluation weeks. During this time, I always make sure everything is all right, checking periodically my projects and looking for a continuous improvement. It is hard to explain because I feel like I loose the interest of the activities I am doing in this moment. In addition, it is not strange the preference of avoiding jokes and getting seriousness in my face.
In addition to getting apathy and moodiness, the stress even increases my appetite. It looks like you immune system would require more proteins and carbohydrates. In fact, it is common the necessity of trying different kinds of foods during the day. No matter if you are busy. Besides, eating cookies and some chocolates can give you not only more energy and strength, but also weight and lethargy.
In brief, the most important causes I get stress in my life are by getting a lot of responsibility at work and at school and by wasting my time due to external factors. Stress has some bad consequences too which damage my health not only getting apathy and moodiness, but also increasing my appetite. Knowing that you can change your perception or circumstances stress will allow you a sense of empowerment and self-control of your mind. Scheduling your activities, going out and exercising can contribute to manage your level of stress.
